Packaging types
No matter what kind of products you manufacture, packaging is most important. Packaging is the key to keeping your product protected from creation to when it hits the hands of consumers, and it conveys what your product and company is all about. Whether it is cosmetics or foodstuff, consumers base many purchasing decisions on the look of an item. Here are four kinds of thermoformed packaging, with its benefits.

1) Clamshells

Clamshells are an extremely popular packaging that is usually created from PVC material. This type of packaging is designed with a hinge on the package that opens and closes. There are two sides to the package: one that fits within the other.
Clamshells are used in industries from cosmetics to food.

Benefit

This type of packaging includes being able to see the whole product due to translucence.

2) Tri-folds

Tri-folds are perfect for those who are marketing a multi-piece product. They can work well for the medical industry, personal care, grooming and household goods manufacturers.

Tri-folds are made to stand up on shelves at 90 degrees.

Benefit

This type of packaging is its versatility sitting on shelves and hanging on the walls.  Stores can easily find a spot for products in tri-fold packaging.

3) Blisters

Blister packs are commonly seen paired with items like batteries, over the counter medicines, cosmetics and more. Blister packaging consists of a plastic container for the product mounted on cardboard backing.

Benefits

This type of packaging allows for high product visibility and inexpensive production. Additionally, they are versatile in terms of size and shape, and they are easy to stock in stores.

4) Trays

Plastic trays are the perfect packaging solution for medical and pharmaceuticals. They can also be very useful in the food industry. Trays are packaging that don’t contain hinges; rather, they have a top and an independent bottom.

Benefits

This type of packaging is that they can be made out of nearly any material, and they are custom fitted to your product. Trays typically don’t require heat-sealing, and they can be used for a number of purposes.
